Saline is a project born from a deep interest in a specific location along the coastal area between Trapani and Marsala. This area is characterized by saltwater basins where evaporation occurs, allowing for the crystallization of salt. In these works, the dim light and the salt’s reflective surface act as sensory catalysts, evoking a tonal chorus that floats between naturalism and abstraction. The salt pans become liminal spaces: not merely sites of salt production, but inner landscapes imbued with a sense of expanded time and rarefied contemplation. Here, color takes center stage, inviting viewers into a reflection on the boundary between the natural and the imaginary, between real landscape and emotional terrain.
