Close to the Edge represents a moment of deep introspection in Federico Severino’s work, where the boundary between form and matter becomes increasingly subtle and blurred. In this series, the artist explores the tension between presence and absence, presenting landscapes and fragments of reality suspended “on the edge,” between abstraction and figuration. The solo exhibition dedicated to these works highlighted how Severino plays with textured surfaces and evanescent marks to investigate the instability of the boundary between visual perception and memory. The almost meditative dimension of the work invites the viewer into an immersive experience, where the smallest detail becomes a bearer of profound symbolic meaning. This project marks an evolution in his ongoing exploration of landscape and the thresholds of the image
