Confini
In CONFINI, Federico Severino begins with photographs taken in the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna, which are then reworked with pastels, transforming the original image. This technique creates a dialogue between the real and the abstract, blurring the boundaries between photography and painting.
The work explores the complexity of the Etnean landscape, a territory rich in geological and historical memory, where nature and time are intricately intertwined. Through pastel markings, Severino investigates the tensions between stability and transformation, between the physical boundaries of the land and the subjective perception of the observer, offering a poetic and symbolic vision of the place.
